Always Transforming
In my previous post I explained my excitement over finding out about phytic acid and how it pertained to me being able to happily indulge in bread for the first time in a decade. However, after eating "organic sour dough" on the regular for a couple of months now, I've inevitably realized that it does still have a negative affect on my digestive track. I can see it in my toilet bowl and smell it when I'm trying to be discreet lol. Since my overall number one dietary goal is avoiding inflammation, I'm going to remove it from my daily consumption. It does continue to have a lovely non bloating side effect that the "sour dough starter kit" creates but I can tell it's still causing me some digestion inflammation. I will most certainly still enjoy this as a rare treat because it is the only bread that does not cause me immediate physical discomfort but give the book wheat belly a read and see how much you still "need bread." I will recommend it's divine flavour "occasionally" for those of you who do not suffer from a gluten sensitivity or would like an occasional treat without the immediate bloating.
I'd like to now bring your attention to the raw food pyramid above. I'm not saying I'm a raw vegan but breaking poor habits while inserting new intelligent ones is my goal. Now envision your pantry and fridge. Are you living in a fantasy world? Is your kitchen dominated by manufactured products created by corporate america? How much trust do you have for massive corporations? Out of the 10 corporations bellow, how many do you think intentionally lace their products with cheap fillers that cause addictions? How many do you think care about their responsibility to the consumer? Our governments not holding any of them accountable so they're behaving like teenagers. They don't give a fuck. Do you need to ingest any of this "inexpensive" junk? No, you don't. I hear you already "but it's cheap". Let me tell you that you do not have to buy "stuff" just because it's "cheap". Think about that mind state for a moment.
How healthy does that make you feel? One of our bodies most important functions is to absorb nutrients from our food intake. Digestive enzymes found in "RAW" foods help the small intestine correctly absorb all the other nutrients that we eat. With out the correct amount of digestive enzymes we're not able to absorb nutrients. You could be eating cooked vegetables thinking you're treating your body right but you may not even be absorbing the few nutrients left after the cooking process destroys most of them. How's that for some new incite? Why does this get dismissed as not important? We do this because we don't see the side effects until it's too late. Our bodies "NEED" raw food. I want to make this easy for you. Fresh raw beautiful food should live on the shelves of your fridge, not in the drawers. If they're hidden away, they're just waiting to rot and plastic bags prevent inspiration. Colour is exciting and creating can be a wonderful stress relief. I don't know about you but I've seen countless refrigerators full of condiments that are rarely used. If you clean out the space, you'll have room for home made sauces, bruschetta mix, chutney, salsas or pico de gallos. What do all of these all have in common? They're raw combinations of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs that could be enhancing the shit outta your palate. It's really fun mixing ingredients together while creating enzyme rich condiments that will super charge your metabolism. I'm here to help and it doesn't have to be "expensive".
We have it etched into our brains that we can't afford to do better and that is simply not the case. Every single, simple, tiny, little change counts. Can you stop buying $15 worth of coffee shop crap this month? I'm betting you can. That will get you 2 large boxes of organic spinach which equals at least 8 portions, if not 15 smaller ones. That's a salad a day for half the month. Imagine investing in double that? A whole $30!? That's not even 3 packs of cigarettes. How foolish is it to deny your body the essential nutrients it needs.
